Who we are

Votemamu provides election-focused news, polls, marketplace experiences, and AI-powered tools for Bangladesh. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through votemamu.com and related services.

Data we collect

Account info

Name, email, and phone (when you sign up, vote with WhatsApp, or place marketplace orders).

Usage data

App interactions, device/browser info, approximate location, and analytics events (via Google Analytics).

Content you provide

Poll votes, comments, uploaded assets for photocard/generator tools, and marketplace inputs.

AI inputs

Prompts and text you submit to AI features so we can generate responses.

Third-party data

If you log in with a social provider or pay through a PSP, we receive the minimal profile and payment confirmations they share. Card numbers are not stored by Votemamu.

How we use your data

  • Deliver core features: news, polls, photocard generator, marketplace, and notifications.
  • Moderate abuse and secure the platform (fraud checks, rate limits, and anomaly detection).
  • Improve relevance and quality of AI responses and on-site recommendations.
  • Comply with legal obligations and lawful requests.

How we share data

  • Service providers: hosting, analytics (Google), communications, and payment/fulfillment partners.
  • AI/ML vendors strictly to generate responses from your prompts.
  • Compliance: to meet legal requirements or protect the rights and safety of Votemamu and users.

We do not sell personal data. Access is limited to what is necessary to run Votemamu securely.

Data retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Poll votes tied to WhatsApp numbers are retained to prevent duplicate voting. Marketplace order records may be kept longer for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

Your choices and rights

  • You can request data deletion (see Data Deletion page).
  • You can opt out of marketing emails from footer unsubscribe links.
  • You can disable cookies in your browser; core functionality may be limited.

Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and monitoring to protect data. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us immediately if you suspect account misuse.

Children

Votemamu is intended for users 13+ and not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
